2014 Spotlight-Ja'Quan Newton

Newton is a 6'3 combo guard from Philly that attends Neumann-Goretti High, the former HS of Cuse alums Scoop Jardine and Rick Jackson. Known for his abilities to get into the lane and finish with ease, Newton has worked on his long range shooting and has now become a respectable shooter from three-point land. Recruiting wise outside of SU, Newton sports offers and interest from Villanova, Temple, Georgetown, Miami, and recent offers from Minnesota and USC. Look for the SU staff to keep an eye on Newton and his AAU teammate 2015 recruit Malachi Richardson on Team Final this summer.
