Introducing Shaqquan Aaron 2014 SF

Aaron is a athletic and skilled 6'8 SF from California. He currently attends Taft High School, which is coached by former Syracuse PG Jason Hart. Aaron has the ability despite being 6'8 to handle the ball like a PG and has the range to knock down outside shots. Although he needs to get stronger, his length enables him to make a difference on the defensive side of the ball. Outside of SU, Aaron has offers and interest from UCLA, Arizona, Kansas, UConn, and St. John's.

Best guards available for 2012

Some have wondered if Dion Waiters left early to the NBA draft, would the SU staff look for an extra guard to come in next season. Below is a list of the top unsigned guards that are still available in the 2012 class. Please note that the SU staff is not currently recruiting any of these players currently as far as I know, but these are some of the names that you should keep in mind just in case.

1)Torian Graham 6-4 175 SG:Top 100 athletic guard that can handle and shoot. Grades are a major concern and he could end up being in the 2013 class. Decommitted twice already from NC State.

2)Daiquan Walker 6-3 175 PG:One of the major sleepers nationally from Philly. Has enjoyed a big senior season running the point for his team. Aggressive player who brings good size and ball handling at the PG position. Currently being looked at by several Big East schools.

3)Chris Jones 6-4 190 SG:Athletic scoring guard from Jersey. Has put up some big numbers in various tournaments in front of coaches this season. Should be a top priority for numerous programs this spring.

Jones is #5 in white

4)Nick Lewis 6-1 180 CG:Canadian combo guard currently playing in NY. Can create off the dribble and is also a very good shooter shooter from deep. Has sparked interest recently from high majors.

5)Geron Johnson 6-4 190 SG:Top Juco guard still on the board. Was known more as an athletic slasher in high school, but has improved his all around game which includes shooting 40% from three this season. Johnson has already took visits to Kansas and Memphis.

Update:2/9 Geron Johnson commits to Memphis and Chris Jones commits to Pitt.

Nerlens Noel reclassifies back to 2012

After several months of speculating, Noel decides to join his original class and will enter college next fall. The news which was first reported by Dave Telep, Noel states that he will visit SU first against UConn on February 11th. Besides those two schools, he is also looking at UK, Florida, UNC, Providence, and Georgetown. The general consensus and feeling behind the scenes is that it'll come down mainly to SU and UK.
